Day 1 – Transfer from Faro to Zambujeira do Mar<\/strong>
\nWelcome!
\nFrom Faro Airport you will be transfered to your accommodation. It is just a few minutes walk to Zambujeira do Mar or one of the many magnificent beaches.
\nAt the end of each tour you\u2019ll have free time to spend as you please: a trip to the beach then a meal in one of the restaurants in the village; or you may want to put your feet up and enjoy the rural tranquillity on your own terrace.<\/p>\n

Day 2 – From port to port<\/strong> (15km, aprox. 5h, 190m ascend, 160m descend, dificulty: medium)
\nFirst tour starts at one of the few ports on the Alentejo and Vicentina coastline. Dunes, wild rosemary, a short passage through a pine forest leads to the lighthouse at Cabo Sard\u00e3o. At the end of the tour you’ll reach the small fishing port Entrada da Barca with its two restaurants famous for the quality of fish dishes and seafood.<\/p>\n

Day 3 – Country and people<\/strong> (17,5km, aprox. 6h, 110m ascend, 300m descend, dificulty: easy)
\nTour on day 3 will help you to acquaint with the nature and people of the countryside. The path that weaves between cork trees, lush pastures and olive trees will capture you with its rustic charm. You will also get to see the \u2018strawberry tree\u2019, from which berries for the famed liquor Medronho are picked and distilled. At the end of our journey the sunny terrace of the restaurant ‘O Tarro’ awaits you.<\/p>\n

Day 4 – Bernosas – an extraordinary rock formation<\/strong> (14km, aprox. 5h, 210m ascent and 230m descent, dificulty: medium)
\nWild cliffs, stork nests and magnificent beaches along the Atlantic coast will amaze you on this tour. We pass the beach of Am\u00e1lia, named after the iconic Fado singer, and continue along the unspoilt coastline, stopping at a small fishing village on our way for a small break. The view of the beach of Odeceixe rewards us for our efforts at the end of this stage.<\/p>\n

Day 5 – Free time and visit to a winery<\/strong> (Wine tasting incl. transfer)
\nThe hiking boots stay in the country house today. You have time to relax or take a bath in the sea. In the afternoon we visit a winery nearby. This young and innovative wine house has already made a name for itself with its coastal wines in a very short time. During the wine tasting smaller snacks are served and you will learn a lot about the Norwegian wine pioneer, who built the estate at that time. Then I have a great restaurant tip for you.<\/p>\n

Day 6 – The house of the spirits<\/strong> (12km, aprox. 4h, 80m ascent and 205m descent, dificulty: easy)
\nA small stream accompanies us on our way to the legendary ‘Pego das Pias’, the Tortoise Lake, situated in a deep gorge. We follow the journey Antonio Banderas and Winona Ryder took in the film by Isabel Allendes ‘The House of the Spirits’. Then we hike to our transfer, which brings us to Odemira. The pretty town is crossed by the river Mira and we can visit there one of the typical Alentejo windmills.<\/p>\n

Day 7 – The wide beach<\/strong> (12km, aprox. 4h, 50m ascent and 60m descent, dificulty: medium)
\nHeading north we pass the wide beach called ‘Brejo Largo’. Here we take the opportunity to leave the path through the dunes and walk along the beach. The way back takes us past cliffs, which fall gently into the sea. We come across the Rio Mira again, which flows into the Atlantic at this point. At one of the beach cafes we can take a well earned refreshment stop. The final stage is a boat trip along the Rio Mira passing the picturesque tidal mill ‘Moinho da Asneira’.<\/p>\n
