The menu varies depending on what the land offers (and the cook&#8217;s mood!) and most products come from local producers, depending on the seasons.<\/p>\n<p>But here there is more than food, you&#8217;ll find all the <strong>atmosphere of the Alentejo taverns<\/strong>, the roadside refuges and the conviviality after a day of work (or walking).<\/p>\n<p>There are toasts in Alentejo bread, steaks, omelets, salads, burgers, sandwiches, codfish cakes and other <strong>dishes well accompanied by the famous Cavaleiro&#8217;s sweet potato<\/strong>. There are also plenty of options for vegetarians, including stewed beans with eggs and tofu saut\u00e9ed with vegetables from the region&#8217;s vegetable gardens. And when it&#8217;s time for dessert, you can choose between homemade carob, almond or fig cakes, almond pie, and of course, a little &#8218;<em>medronho<\/em>&#8218; (arbutus spirit) to go with it.<\/p>\n<p>It is also common to find a lady in her 80s doing her lace and showing her work to passersby. It is the mother of Ms.Ondina, the owner.
